Tame Impala’s entire aesthetic is very psychedelic and their newest album cover didn’t match the aesthetic of the band. I redesigned their album art for “The Slow Rush.” I pulled my color palette from the John Lennon poster from the 1960s. I muted some of the colors so they wouldn’t vibrate as much and would be easier to read. I also hand lettered all of the type. The back is a font I made with my handwriting. I also included some almost topographic illustrative lines on Kevin’s face and body of the album cover. Repetition is another element common in the psychedelic art movement, so I played with repeating his silhouette for the background of the album.
